Church School
Here at UUAT, we have a strong, co-operative Religious Education  program.  Parents are encouraged to be involved in their children’s classes and other activities.  The youth group, however, prefers to meet with their advisor, without parental participation.

Sunday R.E. classes are available for all children from three to eighteen years of age (nursery care is available for infants and toddlers).  All sessions are held during the worship service at 11 am on Sundays.  It is very important that children receive a solid foundation so they may discover their own religious beliefs.  It needs to be inclusive of all (if that is possible) aspects of religion.  The children learn throughout the years about our Judeo-Christian Heritage, World Religions and our Unitarian-Universalist roots.  Our Religious Education follows our Unitarian-Universalist principles which, in language for children to understand, are:

That each and every person is important
That all people should be treated fairly and kindly
That we should accept one another and keep on learning together
That each person must be free to search for what is true and right in life
That all persons should have a vote about the things that concern them
In working for a peaceful, fair and free world
In caring for our planet earch, the home we share with all living things

During the 1999-2000 year, all grades are studying the UU principles in ways the are appropriate for their ages and stages of development.

Preschoolers are studying the UU Alphabet.
The K,1,2 class is learning our UU principles, using the curriculum We Believe
The 3,4,5 grade class is following the curriculum, Beginning Unitarian Universalism
And Middle Schoolers are exploring "How Do I Know What to Believe" about God, Death, People & Religion
The Youth Group is a safe place for all to come.  Their curriculum includes worship, service, social activities, leadership skills and
discussion of personal spiritual issues.
